Dr. Taylor
Dr. Taylor got a late introduction to chiropractic. It wasn’t until she was a junior in college that she received her first chiropractic adjustment. She had experienced a minor car accident in high school, causing damage to the ligaments in her neck, low back, and jaw. Her medical doctor was already discussing surgical options for her jaw and she cringed at the possibility of a 19 year old undergoing a major surgery like that. So she searched for other options and found a chiropractor in her hometown that was an expert in the jaw.
After just a few adjustments, her pain decreased dramatically. But that was just the start! Once her major complaint was resolved, they discussed some other health issues she had experienced – like chronic fatigue, malabsorption, and digestive issues. Her chiropractor was able to help her body heal and restore its natural function. She felt better than she had in a LONG time. She fell in love and immediately applied for chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Chiropractic school was such a blessing. With each class, her love grew for the profession and for helping people. She discovered the wonder that is the human body and its amazing ability to heal itself! She also met her husband and business partner, Dr. Bryce! Together they tackled each course and were even able to graduate on stage together!
Dr. Taylor’s Passion and Expertise
Dr. Taylor is Webster Certified for prenatal care, as well as Advanced Perinatal Certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). She has completed over 200 hours in pediatric education through the ICPA, an extensive Certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics, and is certified in Pediatric and Family Chiropractic Care by The Pediatric Experience and Life University.
Her passion is helping kids who struggle with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) like ADHD, Sensory Processing issues, Autism, and Anxiety. She has a very personal connection to each of them – including her own personal experience.
She grew up with chronic anxiety – formally diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder in her late teens. She was put on medication that was supposed to be a “Magic fix”, but ended up being disappointing because things didn’t really improve.
Hindsight is always 20-20. Once she started diving into the NDD studies and continuing her education, she uncovered her own struggles. The things she thought were just quirks ended up showing a pattern of issues with sensory processing.
- Screaming while getting toenails clipped
- Extreme distaste for strawberry yogurt – but LOVE for strawberry banana (no seeds)
- Refusal of hair brushing
- Daytime wetting issues as a young girl
- Pickiness with fruits (sometime sour, sometimes sweet)
Dr. Taylor loves connecting with parents and kids about their struggles and their goals! Kids who struggle with NDD are not “bad kids”, and there’s absolutely nothing “wrong” with them, their nervous system just needs a little bit of help to take a struggle and turn it into a super power!
Outside the Office
Dr. Taylor is a competitive bowler – bowling in a weekly league at Adel Family Fun Center as well as tournaments around Iowa. She’s a huge ISU fan (both football and basketball). She loves both watching and playing hockey – although you won’t find her on skates anytime soon
